Is Ecolife treated plywood safe for aluminum contact on a boat?
Answer
Pressure treated wood products are not a one-use-fit-all category. Treated wood is available with different preservative chemicals and standardized retention levels for specific uses. EcoLife (EL-2) treated wood is warranted only for residential building purposes. The warranty will not cover any industrial use, such as boat repairs. The use of EcoLife with aluminum products was specifically tested on residential flashing. Viance highly recommends that you contact the boat manufacturer for the proper repair for your boat.
